C’est Fini

My last day at McGill was yesterday. It is sad. So many good memories though!

The weather has been so beautiful, sunny – perfectly perfect breeze. Although now it is slightly overcast which is perfect setting for reading indoors, eating artisan citrus cupcakes, drinking christmas tea and Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background. There are daffodils and tulips planted around the churches and antique shops with spice-scented candles burning… *sigh* I don’t want to go home. Transfer to McGill?

Finally finished my last exams on the friday afternoon, yet it felt everyone was celebrating summer on the thursday as the uni had OAP (open air pub) which has food, drinks, live music … all proceeds go to charity. Sitting in the library and hearing irish music play induced many a pained expression on those who still had exams the following day.  After finishing second semester last year, I went straight onto summer school (had two weeks break) and then studied here. Now to finish.. oh, such a good feeling! There are only two more weeks left before I embark on a USA/Central America trip before heading back home… back to Melbourne!

Ciao!

  1. Hi Nicola,

Sounds absolutely heavenly, especially the cupcakes, drinking Christmas tea with Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background.

Have a great trip around the good ole U.S.A., but especially enjoy the Central American adventure! Are you going to Costa Rica? It is the world’s 19th most peaceful country according to the 2009 Global Peace Index, see: http://www.visionofhumanity.org/gpi/home.php

Have agreat trip and we look forward to seeing you back in Melbourne where it is becoming cold and Autumny; great weather for a long black and a good book.

    Ciao
