Chapter Thirty-Seven: I Passed My Driving Test and Left a Tip (~jinghan)
Well my apparently terrible Tuesday did a complete turn around shortly after I made my last blog post.
“Not more organising things… arg. I could have had this off my plate, but here I am booking another test time. arg.” is what I’m thinking as I log on to the Vicroads* website to see if I can change my newly booked driving test to something earlier. Maybe something in a couple of week would be nice, I’d like to be able to drive around a bit before I disappear off to exchange in America.
I have to admit that I fantasised a little bit about driving myself around before I failed the first test, only to face the agony of another month’s wait.
“Check for available appointment times…” says the button I click.
11th August 10:15am, Oakleigh South
What? Isn’t that … – I flick through my diary – two days from now! At a perfect morning non-school time, non-peak time slot. My heart is pounding as I call up my driving instructor.
“That’s great!” she says, “I was going to service my car that day, but I can change that.”
“Really?! Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!!”
I can completely forgive you now Life! We had a falling out, but I’m glad we’re still friends in the end. Since Tuesday, I’ve managed to pass my driving test, secure a place to live in america and fallen in love with World Vision… but that’s another story.
Though, I have to admit, in my excitement after actually passing my driving test I accidentally forgot to take my change from the vicroads cashier…
You win some and you lose some I guess.
