Speed

Bloody police. Was on the way home from a 21st just over a week ago, and a (mostly) unmarked police car sped past me, doing about 140km/h, with absolutely no siren. Where was their speeding ticket?

Had a slightly scary moment on my bike, had to brake quite suddenly when a car pulled in front of me. I get the feeling they thought they could beat me, but luckily I was watching them all along and didn’t believe it when they pulled out. Still, I am enjoying riding my bike heaps.

Us blog people got together last Thursday and I got to know some of the First_Years including Zoë, David and Stephanie. Maybe we’ll try to organize something after exams. Shamefully I’ve never met Lara in person.

Hmm, I’d written a note to myself on what to write: “ozzy inview”. I wonder what that was about…

Swing dance classes are over for the semester, I enjoyed it alot. Although because I haven’t gotten to any social gigs I’ve forgotten a lot of the earlier stuff, I’ll have to look for something soon. I made it onto the Dancesport committee as I.T. maintainer, so I’ll have to check our mailing list is working, and I really don’t know else what. (There is a separate position for webmaster, with someone much more qualified.) The position was quite easy to get in to since no one else was interested (or had the expertise, lets say) for the position. By getting in though I got a free (:p) dinner on Lygon Street, and then went out later to Equinox where the Latino club had a fund raising event for Earthquake relief somewhere overseas. I got some quick Salsa lessons from the people I was with, (I never remember which Latin/Street Latin style is which, in fact I don’t even know the difference between Latin and Street Latin.), which I quickly remembered what it was, and had a few simple dances.

Now to somehow work out what I’m going to say for my Darwinism Essay. Most likely going to be something about the history of eugenics. (the idea humans directing their own evolution.) Something about Nazi Germany does seem interesting.
