things are getting Hecticc.
Okay so all of a sudden life has become stressful. Not year 12 a month before exams stressful, but stressful enough. Quite out of the blue I actually have work due in the next two weeks, and I can’t help but seriously doubt that I remember how to right a proper essay. Major problem – how does one know how to right a uni essay? I’m assuming it can’t just be exactly the same as an english or lit essay, or if so, which is it, english or lit? See? Stressful. I’ll make sure to let you all know once i figure it out (IF i ever figure it out).
College is getting pretty interesting lately. I’m auditioning for the college musical in the next few days and have another upcoming performance that I’m involved in. Quite nervous for the dancing portion of my audition. Did I used to do dance? Yes. Can I actually dance? Not really. It’s ridiculous how terrible I am with physical co-ordination/any activity even semi related to sport.
I also am starting a tutoring thing at a school as part of a sort of community service with the college, which I’m really looking forward to. You get to tutor year 11’s and 12’s at a ‘disadvantaged’ school and hopefully help them in getting better ENTER scores.
I’ve been toning it down with the partying a little lately. By toning down I mean going out/drinking 3 nights a week instead of 6. Man, college life is just plain… bad for you, health-wise at least. And in terms of your wallet. I feel like i’m spending waaay too much lately and i have no idea what on really.
Just thought I’d end with a little bit of advice. When you need to get your textbooks/course notes at the start of a semester, MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU NEED ASAP. Otherwise, you may have to go through something frustrating such as going to the uni bookshop 6 TIMES to look for your media and comm course notes. That’s right, 5 out of the 6 times the shelf was empty. Moral of the story – pre-pay for your books online so you definitely have a copy shot-gunned for you. Or just don’t have as terrible bad luck as me.
Anyways, thats pretty much it. Oh, one more little tip; go to lectures that are 2 hours long. Otherwise, you’re stuck finding a 2 hour block of time later on to listen to the lecture on lectopia and trust me, in the end you will give up and get the notes of someone else.
Until next time!
A nice little freudian slip there where you wrote “right” instead of “write” – keep it!
Yeah, I came into uni thinking that it would be complete non-stress. at least all through VCE I was thinking “this will all be okay after vce ends”. But there is still a fair bit of homework to do. How to you keep up with that and the partying? I can’t say I’ve had a lot of time for partying at the moment, actually any precious hours I have spare I spend sleeping.
Re: getting textbooks early – you have to be careful, or you can end up where I was, with a pile of books from a subject I immediately dropped… hmm.
