She & Him – Why Do You Let Me Stay Here
Okay, this has to be a quick one again because pre-drinks for pre-drinks are about to start before we all go out to a student bar nearby that’s just introduced a cover charge (boo). After all, Monday night is the biggest night in a college student’s week, perhaps excepting Wednesday night. And Friday night. Actually no, Friday night is the next level down, with the Sunday and Thursday nights. Of course, Saturday night is the night of rest. Or the night to make the most of the later-running public transport schedule and head out into the CBD (ooh, adventurous!). Saturday’s tend to be the night all your friends from high school venture out into the scary world that is King St or Lonsdale Street or some intersection of the two and you can’t let them down after 6 years of putting up with bitch fights over lipgloss colour, getting covered with spit because you can’t eat with your braces and all those times you copied their homework. (Collusion is bad. Don’t do it)
So that’s what’s happening tonight. In my last post I might have mentioned I would tell you all the places to stay away from to avoid college kids. I will list some of them but if I told you any more I’d have to kill you. Prince Alfred’s, Pugg Mahone’s, Naughton’s (notice they’re all owned by someone), The Clyde, Bimbo Deluxe (also sells pizza) and Perseverance. All of these are close to campus and therefore a little annoying if you’re from the ‘burbs (like me, originally) and don’t like to take cabs (still like me).
Okay, 275 words and counting. If only I could write that amount for the Philosophy mini-essay I have due in tomorrow. It’ll get done, I’m sure of it. Now, where did I put my glass…
