February 9th, 2011, (part 1) – Who am I, what is my identity (Will)
Greetings, my name is Will. I am one of the first year bloggers of 2011. So anyway first of all I’m going to tell you a little about myself. I come from a small town called Charlton, you may know where it is these days because it became like 82% submerged by the 2011 floods in earlyish January. We personally were not affected by it because we live on a farm way out of the way. We don’t actually do any farming as such like cows and sheep etc. we mostly moved out her because my sister has horses. Its a bit of a drag really living on a farm because I like hanging out with my friends but being 10km out of the way stuffed it up a little.
So Ive been longing to get to melbourne for the last year and a half so I can make some new friends who I can actually hang out with. I’m staying at whitley college as a rez so I’m really having the most major transition from a farm 300km away from melbourne to being completely in the big smoke. Dont get me wrong I love Melbourne,ย I’m not afraid or what not about being there, personally I try to attempt to be there as much as possible haha. I love roming streets and thinking to explore and get completely lost and then try to find my way back.
I’m doing science this year at Melbourne uni and doing like chemistry 1, calculus 1, biology and criminology. I like movies, as long as they’re good. Which is a bit hypocritical seing as i love horror movies which are generally terrible haha. i guess I like to see the ocasional bad movie, don’t we all. I love hoyts at melbourne central, its just the best cinema ever I think. Mostly because they have ripper jumbo popcorn and coke. As you can probably tell I never shut up so get used to reading lengthy posts most of the time.
I cant help but wish away days until the 19th till I move into whitley. I dont think you could call me normal as in I’m an average person. Like i look like an average person. But i find myselfย awkward and strange to most people, but thats normally just a first impression, once you get to know me I’m very nice haha but a bit of a clutz, somehow i broke our fridge, i dont know how. So don’t be put off by some inappropriate things I may blurt out. I rarley ever mean anything I say if its offensive :] I like to take photos as well like I own a goodย SLR nokia camera so i may post up lots of photos of my experiences and i cant wait to hear from you :]
Hey Will, you’ll make loads of friends. Some of the previous students told me Melbourne Uni is a “party party uni” so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to muck around and make friends. And all us bloggers can be friends too ^^ I can’t wait to see your photos, they’re gunna be awesome ๐
I dear hope so, yeah my brother (3rd year) says that its like that too. That’d be cool having a bloggers club haha should have blogger partys. Ive already tried to put up photos but ive told ron so hope to get some up soon. Bit wierd for a science student to love photography, i do like art tho did ripper in studio art last year. Cant wait to meet all the other bloggers
Yayyy a fellow photographer!!
I LOVE my camera, I have an Canon SLR .. it’s AMAZING ๐
Lol Camera club haha. I love mine toooo have to share photos
It’s not weird for a science to like photography at all! I was totally into computer photography back in high school. The teacher couldn’t stop laughing at the stupid stuff I created ๐ Too bad they didn’t survive the transition from Photoshop to USB to old, broken down home computer -.-
A blogger party? I’m so there >:)
haha we should all meet after o week sometime like have a nightout somewhere :D. Bummer about the technical probs i hate computers soooo much sometime haha
Hey Will!! I’m a new blogger here too! High five for the love of photography!! Guess many of us love it…:D but I don’t really have a SLR or DSLR…just a normal camera but I’ve been roaming around Melbourne too snapping pics at even the most common stuff…:P
I’m sure you’ll make it through your transition well…I myself had (oh well, or should I say am currently going through a major transition as well?) but yeahh…roaming and exploring Melbourne has been super duper fun and awesome too…:)
Hey Aina, haha we must all love photography ๐ something we can all chat about when we meet up. I love roaming and exploring melbourne its sooo much fun. I love it when you forget where a place is and then all of a sudden find it again :D. like for instance our art class went on an excursion to melbourne to admire and analyse the street art and i totally forgot where a piece i liked was, then one day i got off a train and walked down a random ally and found it. Its so amasing i just love it soooo much!!! ๐ Glad to meet you
Haha…yes…i get what you mean by that…its like having the thrill when you’ve that something that you’ve saw before and thought you remember where it was but actually you can’t find it…so when you actually see it again…its like that adrenaline rush that really makes this exciting i guess…:D
yeahh…me and my friends would just roam all over melbourne and snapping random pics of buildings and foods and all other stuffs…
one thing i personally liked about melbourne compared to where i come from…melbourne is like really totally diversified…you can find any sort of building by just randomly strolling about…those ancient style kind of building…it totally AWESOME! ๐
and oh…the weather here is perfect for walking…in malaysia…walking in the morning sometimes can already cause one to sweat buckets!! so yeah…you get the picture…its much much more humid there…so i really love the cool weather here! ๐
