Easter – What a Waste!!! (Georgie)
I think the title says it all. I have done about 2 pages of reading for uni in the past week AND I have essays due on the 14th which I have not started. Arghhhh!!!! I feel like I’m still in summer holiday mode.
I went to a barbecue on Thursday, which was lovely, but I drank a little too much, and am now thinking that drinking to excess is perhaps not the best thing in the world – took me long enough. Also, for women, if we drink more the 14 units of alcohol a week our chances of getting breast cancer double. Argh! I spent Friday and Saturday at a friend’s house watching movies, which was quite enjoyable. I’m still frustrated that Jo didn’t end up with Laurie in Little Women, but I did tear up a fair bit when Beth died. I’ve finally watched Indiana Jones, how weird to see Harrison Ford when he was young. And I’m now a big fan of Saved, a movie with Mandy Moore. Pregnant teens at a catholic high school – hilarious!
I’ve had my second and third days at my new job at Eastlink now. It’s going well. The people are really nice, but it is always a little disconcerting when you are in a new environment and have to learn the job from scratch. I got to drive down part of Eastlink so that was cool.
I went out to see Stephen K. Amos at the Comedy Festival last night, and he was awesome! I highly recommend him to anyone who’s not sure who to see. Then we went out to the Rochester so I didn’t get home till 4, and then slept in till 1 today and then went to a family thing. The only productive part of my day was meeting my mum’s Irish cousins and their kids – who were all lovely – so now when I go over to Dublin for exchange I’ll have a few friendly faces.
On a final note:
listening to: Maroon 5 and One Republic (I’m going to the concert tomorrow)
reading: not my uni articles
watching: sex and the city!
Sounds like you had a really fun holiday 🙂
One thing that always bugged me about Little Women is that I never ever figured out that Beth actually died even though everyone else always says she did… seriously, she was alive in my copy of the second book, and she never died in my copy of the first one, even though they were by different publishers… what gives?
