The definitive end of the two-party system in France

Thursday 3rd March 2022, 31 days until the first election round
Bonjour !
Welcome back to our Living the French Elections 2022 discussion group. The countdown is on with less than 6 weeks to go until the first election round.
On Thursday 3rd March our discussion group welcomed guest speaker Natanael Bloch, who is an expert in European politics, former political advisor, and co-founder and co-host of the SBS podcast Europa Voice. Natanael spoke to us about the definitive end of the two-party system in France.
According to Natanael, the French are rejecting the classic Right/Left divide. There are several candidates on either side of politics. Left-wing voters are more certain of who they will vote for, whereas right-wing voters are more likely to change their minds at the last minute.
Even though extremist candidates, such as Zemmour, attract a lot of attention, it is centrist candidates that win the French elections. Will a more centrist candidate like Macron prevail in 2022 or will France follow other global trends and elect a far-right extremist?
Stay tuned for the final countdown of the French elections!
