SOLL Event: National Reconciliation Week 2023

Felicia Lee

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to celebrate Aboriginal Australian culture and to foster cultural exchange and appreciation. NRW is held on 27 May to 3 June annually to commemorate two important dates signifying the reconciliation journey, which are the 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision. This year’s theme for the NRW is Be a Voice for Generations.

At the School of Languages and Linguistics, NRW will be commemorated with a breakfast and talk by A/Prof Nick Thieberger, who is presenting on the 50 Words Project, resourced by the Research Unit of Indigenous Language (RUIL) and supported by the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language.

All students and staff are invited to join us for the talk!
